Whole Wheat Honey Rolls

4 ½ tsp yeast

2 c warm buttermilk

½ c butter melted

1/3 c honey

3 c whole wheat flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1-2 ½ c flour

  • Dissolve yeast in warm buttermilk. Add the butter, honey, whole wheat flour, salt and baking soda. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth about 8 minutes. Let rise in a bowl about 1 hour.
  • Punch down and divide into 7 portions. Divide each portion into 6 rolls. Shape each into a ball. Cover and let rise until double, about 30 minutes.
  • Brush with melted butter. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes. Delicious served with honey butter.
